Dogs Won’t Quit Barking At 4:30 a.m. Owner’s Discovery Makes Their Blood Run Cold

Dogs are some of the most amazing creatures and incredibly perceptive to when something is wrong.

They have been lauded for alerting owners to fires while they lie sleeping in their cozy beds and they’re trained as service dogs to alert a person to when a seizure or drop in blood pressure is about to occur so the human can safely lie down.

They are critical in sniffing out explosive devices and locating humans after a disaster occurs. They have been credited for saving numerous lives in many ways.

Two labradoodles named Adam and Eva began acting out of the norm one morning before dawn. It was 4:30 a.m. and owners Lonnie and Susan Chester had no idea what was wrong with their dogs.

They would not stop barking, insisting on being let outdoors at such an odd hour. In fact, Adam began tugging on Lonnie’s clothes, he was so adamant that he must go outside.

Susan balked though, because she was worried about what could be bothering them so much. So the couple cracked open the door and the pooches rushed by them headed outdoors only to begin barking near Lonnie’s truck.

Once they were let outside, they began to bark and circle around something in the snow. Lonnie hustled outside after the dogs and discovered something so startling that he was caught off guard.

It was an elderly woman in her 80s, lying in the snow wearing only a thin nightgown. She was barely alive, shivering and confused, Lonnie said.

“She looked up at me and said, ‘I’m so cold.’ I have no idea how long she had been out there. She must have been terrified.”

Lonnie scooped her up and carried her into their home to warm her up and call 911. Without the dogs, she might have perished out there in the frigid temperatures.

Susan credited their canines with saving the woman’s life. She vowed to never ignore her dogs’ crazy antics again.

“It could have been a tragic outcome had Adam and Eva not woken us. I don’t know how they knew she was out there. We’re just so proud of our dogs knowing they may have saved a life.”
